Lubuk Bangku is a popular restaurant in Bangsar that specializes in Minang and Negeri Sembilan cuisine. The name is inspired by a village in Payakumbuh, West Sumatera, which is known for its delicious food. This restaurant is well-known for serving some of the best dishes from these regions in Kuala Lumpur.

"Like Mother's Cooking!"

Kak Ida and her family established this place, where she returned to her passion for cooking after a long career in banking. Originally from Kuala Pilah, Kak Ida uses traditional family recipes with her own unique touch to create dishes that reflect her personal style.

If you visit a Minang or Negeri Sembilan restaurant, it's a must to try their delicious Gulai Lemak Daging Salai. The special ingredient in Lubuk Bangku's dish is their smoked Daging Salai, which is prepared in limited quantities daily. The dish is complemented by their secret recipe for Kuah masak lemak. After tasting the Gulai Lemak here, you won't need to travel all the way to Negeri Sembilan for a taste of authentic flavors.

If you enjoy fried chicken, you must try the fried free-range chicken here. It is cooked in batches during lunch, allowing you to taste how moist and tender the meat is. It is best to eat it immediately as it tends to dry out fast.

Lubuk Bangku is known for their popular dish, the Sambal Terong Balado. It tends to sell out by 1pm, so it's important to get there early. The combination of sambal and eggplant creates a sweet and savory flavor profile, with a spicy and creamy finish. What sets this dish apart is that it is not greasy like other versions found elsewhere.

At Lubuk Bangku, the menu changes daily, with some popular dishes being the Masak Lemak Labu and Telur Masak Kicap. Once you try these dishes, you'll be dreaming about them.
